Water Project

The Agolomuok Community Water Project is designed to supply clean underground water to a community of approximately 8,000 households representing some 50,000 people. It was funded by an international aid agency many years ago and consists of an artesian bore with an electric pump powered by solar panels.

The water project is designed to supply water to a nearby primary school and to 4 water kiosks located within the Agolomuok community. However only the primary school and two water kiosks are connected to the bore, servicing some 3,000 households. Everyone else must walk 5-6kms to Lake Victoria to wash dishes, to wash themselves and to draw water for drinking and cooking. The lake water is polluted and unclean.

Our goal is to connect the two remaining water kiosks and build an additional three water kiosks. This will allow fresh water to reach many more households in the Agolomuok community and thousands more in an adjoining community. We need to raise $40,000 for this project and every dollar you give is potentially a life saving dollar.
